Microgaming inks Gold Coin Studio to exclusive distribution deal

Microgaming has forged a strategic tie-up with Gold Coin Studios, coming to terms on an exclusive distribution deal with the Reno, Nevada-based game development firm.

Microgaming-Gold Coin Studios Deal

Microgaming announced the agreement in a press release early this week, securing exclusive distribution rights over Gold Coin Studio’s existing and future video slot titles.

Microgaming has ramped up its efforts to enhance its current library of real money games. The exclusive tie-up with the up-and-coming game development studio comes as a welcome development for the gaming giant.

Gold Coin Studio has forged a close business relationship with Microgaming since its launch in 2008. The studio has launched a number of video slot titles via the Microgaming platform, taking advantage of the platform’s wide market reach.

In July 2020, the studio released its first ever video slot title  “Arthur Gold.” The Arthurian legend-inspired game has since paved the way for more Gold Coin Studio titles making their debut on the Microgaming platform, including video slot titles like Bushi Sushi, Animals of Africa and Aquatic Treasures.

Gold Coin Studio said the recent deal with Microgaming has further strengthened its business ties with the company, which has produced several successful collaborations. It also identified its lengthy land-based gaming experience as the foundation for its work.

The studio will be releasing two exciting video slot titles this summer.  Pirate-themed Silver Seas, which incorporated Microgaming’s electric EpicStrike mechanic, will make its market debut on May 20. Less than two months later, Treasure Tracks will become available in several casino lobbies starting July 8. The studio also confirmed that it will be launching more titles during the second half of 2021.

Key People on the Deal

John Duffy, CEO at Gold Coin Studios, said:

“All of us here are thrilled to work with Microgaming and have had a brilliant experience so far. Our extensive land-based gaming experience has given us a great base to work from and we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve got coming up!”

Andrew Booth, director of games at Microgaming, added:

“Gold Coin Studios have already given us some great games over the past year since they joined Microgaming. I’m looking forward to seeing them continue to cement their place in our roster of exclusive studios.”
