Caesars Sportsbook lands on home jersey of Washington Capitals

Caesars Entertainment secured a historic agreement with the Washington Capitals, whose home and alternate jerseys will feature the Caesars Sportsbook logo throughout the 2022-23 NHL season.

The Caesars Entertainment-Capitals agreement comes as the first of its kind since NHL introduced its Jersey Advertising Program.

With the pact, Caesars Sportsbook will see its logo in the form of 3 x 3.5-inch patch placed on the upper right chest area of the Capitals’ home and alternate jersey beginning next season.

Monumental Sports and Entertainment, which owns several sports teams in the Washington DC area, also agreed to expand its partnership with Caesars Entertainment by offering Casino, Gaming, and Caesars Rewards bonuses and freebies.

The Capitals will also award Caesar Sportsbook the naming rights to a hospitality space and VIP seating at Capital One Arena.

The NHL presented the Jersey Advertising Program as another revenue stream, allowing each team to have up to two jersey sponsors: one on the home jersey and the other on the road kits. The Capitals will announce the sponsor for their away jersey in the coming days.

Before the historic home jersey sponsorship deal, MSE and Caesars Entertainment already broke new grounds by debuting the Caesars Sportsbook at Capital One Arena last May. It marked the establishment of the first-ever sports betting venue within a US professional sports facility.

Quotes from the Press Release

Chris Holdren, co-president of Caesars Digital, commented on yet another historic collaboration between his company and MSE:

“Being woven into the Washington Capitals jersey is an exciting chapter in our collective story. Like Monumental Sports & Entertainment, we love blazing trails and we are always looking for innovative opportunities that drive engagement and storytelling for fans.

“We are proud to extend our historic partnership with such a storied franchise after launching the sportsbook at Capital One Arena.”

Jim Van Stone, MSE president of business operations and chief commercial officer, added:

Following the successful launch of Caesars Sportsbook adjacent to Capital One Arena last spring, we are thrilled to introduce Caesars Sportsbook as the Capitals’ inaugural home jersey advertising partner in a first-of-its-kind announced partnership in the NHL.

“Together as two industry leaders, we’ve built a robust partnership in the gaming and casino space, and our overall relationship reflects our shared commitment to providing sports fans with world-class, unique experiences.

“MSE, the Capitals, and Caesars share a commitment and passion toward innovation in the sports and entertainment space, and the opportunity to incorporate Caesars onto Capitals home jerseys is a wonderful development and exciting new fan engagement opportunity for both organizations in the nation’s capital.”
