Okto praises major deal with Merkur Slot and Bingo Brands

Okto has celebrated another company milestone in the UK gambling scene as the wallet solution provider hammered a deal with Merkur Slots and Bingo brands.

Okto – Merkur Slots and Bingo Partnership

About the Deal

In the press release last October 29, Okto announced that it has secured a “major agreement” with a company it considers as one of the most recognizable names in the gaming world.

Merkur Gaming, which focuses on designing and manufacturing casino gaming systems, agreed to utilize Okto.Wallet in 200 venues all over the UK.

Integration Process

Okto said both Merkur Bigo Hall in Cricklewood North, London, and Merkur Slots high street gaming center in Shepherds Bush, West London will integrate Okto.Wallet into their existing in-venue cashless infrastructure via the GeWeTub during the first round of implementation.

Additional Merkur gaming properties will then follow suit in deploying the said mobile payment app to ensure a smooth, seamless digitized customer journey for their customers.

Corporate Insights

Simon Dorsen, CCO at Okto, believes the company’s recent collaboration with Merkur validates the growing popularity of Okto.Wallet with players, citing its convenience and an assortment of responsible gaming and safety features the app adds to the gaming experience.

Earlier this year, Okto also bagged deals with Regal Gaming and Leisure, Inspired Entertainment, and Bob Rudd.

Quotes from the Press Release

Simon Dorsen, CCO at Okto, commented: “This is another significant agreement and one that we are incredibly pleased to confirm with Merkur, one of the most respected and recognized names in world gaming.

“We started our relationship with Merkur UK less than six months ago in May 2021 when we signed an agreement with Regal Gaming and Leisure.

“Adding to the relationship in this way means that we are now active in the Pub, AGC and Bingo sectors which I believe reflects the appeal of the app with players, what it can deliver from a commercial perspective but also its’ role in delivering a safer gambling experience with tools including age verification, time-out periods, a profit and loss calculator, the ability to set spending limits, and access to helplines for the small percentage of machine players who experience problems gambling.

“Through its 360 programme, I know how serious Merkur UK is about delivering a safe gambling experience, and I am delighted that the Okto.Wallet will be able to contribute to that commitment and philosophy.”

Sacha Blouda, general manger at Merkur UK, added: Our goal as a Group is to strive to be the very best in everything that we do.”

“As well as the obvious criteria such as the best venues, people, and machines it also means providing our customers with the best experience and the best choice of options to play and to pay.

“Everything is led by our players – delivering choice will always be at the very top of the agenda and that includes a recognition that new demographics are seeking a smooth, seamless digitised customer journey.”
