Nevada Gaming Control Board anticipates compliance with the Emergency Directive

According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, each of its licensees is required to “ensure compliance” with Governor Sisolak’s Emergency Directive 045.

The directive, which incorporates all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines about markings, requires everyone, including fully vaccinated individuals, to wear a mask in public indoor places where COVID-19 transmission is large or high.

The mask requirement is waived in counties that maintain a low or moderate level of viral transmission for two consecutive weeks, as defined by the CDC. The board expects each licensee to check Nevada Health Response updates for the most up-to-date information on which counties are subject to the mask requirement.

Bracing for Busy Week

As Nevada prepares for a significant increase in visitor traffic during the New Year’s holiday, the board indicated that it will step up enforcement of Emergency Directive 045 at all licensed facilities subject to the mask requirement to guarantee the safety of Nevada residents and visitors.

Additionally, the board reminded its licensees, gaming employees, and the general public that a licensee who violates any federal, state, or local law or regulation violates Nevada Gaming Commission Regulation 5.011, and that the board may seek disciplinary action against the licensee for any such violation.

In collaboration with state and local health officials, the Nevada Gaming Control Board will continue to monitor COVID-19 and its impact on licensee operations and will issue additional alerts as necessary.
