Francisco Cerundolo got major sponsorship from Astropay

Francisco Cerundolo, a rising tennis player who reached the final stages of the Miami Open, has received sponsored by online payment service provider AstroPay in the following months.

Major Boost from Astropay

When he took on Norwegian Casper Ruud in their semi-final encounter last week, the 23-year-old Argentinian tennis star wore a cap with the payment provider’s logo on it to represent their partnership.

Born in Buenos Aires, Cerundolo has achieved a number of career records during this year’s Miami Open, which has resulted in him moving up the world rankings, rising from 103rd to 51st as a result of his performances in the tournament.

On the other hand, his Norwegian opponent is also 23 years old and has been considered one of the most promising young players of his generation.

He is now ranked eighth in the world and has won multiple ATP titles. Cerundolo, despite his current success, was not considered a favorite to win the match by most experts, but the possibility is high his hot streak will continue.

Corporate Notes

Although the Argentine eventually lost to Ruud 6-4, 6-1, the company stated that AstroPay was thrilled to sponsor Francisco Cerundolo as he created history as the first player of his ranking to reach the semi-finals of an ATP1000 tournament, the Miami Open.

In a press release statement, the company’s CEO, Mikael Lijtenstein, expressed a similar emotion, saying that they are happy to be supporting Francisco in the Miami Open and are really proud of his performance in making it to the semi-finals. They wish him the best of luck in his game on Friday and hope that he advances to the championship round. After agreeing to a sponsorship agreement with esports operator Pinnacle to sponsor the third iteration of its flagship esports competition, AstroPay has now announced its sponsorship of Cerundolo.
