The oldest major professional sports organization, Major League Baseball (MLB), has indicated its support for Proposition 27, an initiative that might result in California launching its own online sports betting market.

On the ballot in November will be Proposition 27, the outcome of years of struggle for the legalization of the vertical in the state. The proposal is presently one of the hottest subjects in California, where opinions remain split.

Major League Baseball has expressed support for the measure

Prop 27 will compete against Prop 26, which proposes the exclusive authorization of sports betting in tribally-owned casinos.
