New Method of Interaction and Navigation

The partnership between Venuetize and Churchill Downs Racetrack will see the mobile-first and payment technology provider deploy its solutions as part of a two-phase mobile experience designed to provide racetrack guests with a seamless means of interacting with and navigating the track and its amenities.

Casey Ramage, vice president of Marketing, Brand, and Partnerships at Churchill Downs Racetrack, commented on the announcement by describing the racetrack’s ongoing efforts “to improve the technology experience” for its guests.

The new mobile app, which is already available in both the App Store and Google Play, provides ticketing capabilities, such as the ability to access, purchase, and transfer tickets, as well as maps and navigation throughout the venue, including the find my seat, food, and beverage kiosk, and betting window locations.

In addition, the app offers complete race calendars with post times, results, odds, expert choices, chat capabilities, and a content hub with videos, news, social, and lifestyle blogs.

The beautiful design of the new mobile experience, coupled with the app’s ease of use, is anticipated to increase guest engagement at Churchill Downs Racetrack to a new level.

Jon Romm, Venuetize’s chief executive officer, emphasized the significance of the new alliance for both sides as he highlighted the company’s commitment to continue expanding its capabilities in support of premier clients such as Churchill Downs Racetrack and its visitors.

In the second phase of the new mobile experience, each of the Churchill Downs Racetrack and The Kentucky Derby brands will be presented via a 2-in-1 strategy within the app, which will provide each brand with its own user interface and content stream while sharing the underlying infrastructure.

Busy First Half of September

The arrangement with Venuetize is the latest for Churchill Downs Racetrack’s operator Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) in September, which has been a busy month for the corporation. Gary Palmisano, Jr. was recently promoted to Executive Director of Racing by CDI in order to assist the company in implementing the Horse Racing Integrity and Safety Act across all of its racing assets.

Also in September, CDI signed a strategic partnership with FanDuel to provide the leading sportsbook operator with advanced horse racing solutions and facilitate pari-mutuel betting for FanDuel customers, and at the start of the month, CDI’s acquisition of the Chasers Poker Room in Salem, New Hampshire was finalized following the approval of the New Hampshire Lottery Commission.
