International Game Technology (IGT), a company that provides technology and solutions to the international gaming industry, just announced a new partnership with the casino and sports betting company Betfred to use PlaySports technology in its launch in the Nevada sports betting market.

Betfred will enter the Nevada betting market as a result of the new multi-year partnership between the two companies, according to Gambling Insider.

Betfred will use IGT’s PlaySports solution to run sports betting at the Mohegan Sun Sportsbook in the Curio Collection by Hilton hotel at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, which is home to the Mohegan Sun Sportsbook.

According to Bryan Bennett, chief operating officer of Betfred USA Sports, “IGT PlaySports’ remarkable reputation and influence in the US sports betting market, coupled with their ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, give Betfred supreme confidence in our choice to partner with IGT in Nevada.”

Nevada Customers Get Competitive Sports Betting Experience  

Betfred will be able to create “a competitive and engaging betting experience” in the world’s most exciting gaming destination thanks to the “experienced, in-market team and proven technology” that is utilized by IGT’s PlaySports.

Additionally, this will give Betfred the option to scale operations by pursuing additional market opportunities. Bennett praised these aspects of PlaySports.

Although the partnership will begin with retail sports betting at Mohegan Sun, Betfred has plans to launch a PlaySports-powered mobile sportsbook in the near future. The retail sportsbook at Mohegan Sun will be the first Betfred sportsbook to be powered by IGT’s PlaySports technology in the United States.

Also commenting on the relationship with Betfred was Joe Asher, who is the president of sports betting at IGT. In his remarks, Asher emphasized the role that Fred Done played in the company’s ultimate choice to form a partnership with the betting operator.

He stated that he had recently seen the proprietor of the UK-based sports betting firm in person at a hearing that was held by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. He had attended the hearing in person.

Asher said about Done and his sportsbook brand, “He is a legend in bookmaking and Betfred is one of the most legendary brands in the sports betting industry.”

Asher felt honored “to work with Fred’s team in the US and they introduced the Betfred product in Nevada,” and he helped the brand “create a successful sportsbook that will appeal to local sports fans and visitors alike,” Asher said.
