The site of Major League Soccer’s 30th team, which will debut in 2023 in either Las Vegas, Nevada, or San Diego California, remains unknown.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber announced Thursday during the league’s annual state-of-the-league address in downtown Los Angeles that the league intends to continue expansion talks and hopes to settle its 30th team in the first half of 2019.

If Las Vegas becomes the 30th MLS franchise, it will provide more fanfare to the vastly expanding sporting city and another team to bet on for Nevada sports betting junkies.

Las Vegas Seeks A 30th MLS Franchise.

In January, the MLS signed into an exclusive negotiation agreement with billionaires Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris concerning the relocation of a franchise to Las Vegas, and with Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Monsour regarding the relocation of a team to San Diego.
