BetMGM To Test Launch Its Pennsylvania Online Casino on Tuesday sherlock 2. December 2020 | UPDATED ON: 2. December 2020 Post Views: 162 Officials from BetMGM said last week that their Pennsylvania online casino will launch on Tuesday. However, it will be a test launch for three days from Tuesday to Thursday. Three-day soft launch Representatives from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and BetMGM confirmed that the firm will be doing a three-day soft launch of its online slots and table games. If this launch is successful, the state will witness the permanent operation of its 13th iCasino. BetMGM refused to comment or provide details of the launch until later this week. It is evident that the company will not provide sports betting or online poker immediately. These two features will be added in the coming months. BetMGM is already running its online casinos in New Jersey. Its sports betting options are available in Indiana, Colorado, Nevada, Tennessee, Mississippi, and West Virginia. Its online operation is called Roar Digital, which is a joint venture between MGM Resorts and British gambling giant GVC Holdings. BetMGM’s entry in Pennsylvania is later than expected because MGM doesn’t have a casino in the state that could have given it a direct license. BetMGM’s journey in Pennsylvania Earlier, the company had applied for a qualified gaming entity certificate with the gaming board. The certificate allows operators not located within the state to pay a $12 million fee and offer poker, table games, and online slots to users. It later received licensing approval to provide sports wagering and interactive gaming with one or two casinos in the state via a partnership. On Monday, a representative from the gaming board announced that the firm will utilize iCasino “skins” at Penn National Gaming. Note that Penn Nation already has a partnership with DraftKings and runs its own Hollywood Casino online gaming operation. BetMGM also announced a marketing partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, sports betting could be trickier for the company to navigate. Existing casinos can offer multiple iCasino skins but only one online betting site.
