Nevada Remote Sports Betting Registrations May Not Happen Anytime Soon sherlock 25. January 2021 | UPDATED ON: 25. January 2021 Post Views: 120 The largest gambling hub in the US, Nevada, doesn’t plan to adopt remote sports betting legislation this year. Legislators in the state have already dropped their efforts in this direction. Legislation for remote registration is dead Ellen Schmidt from the Las Vegas Review-Journal recently noted that an amendment that could enable remote registration for sports betting in Nevada is dead now. The idea was originally floated in September to help the state cope with the aftereffects of the pandemic. However, it now seems evident that the idea will not be brought to life. Sightline Payments LLC and Sightline Interactive LLC submitted the idea, as they launched new digital payment solutions across the country. Nevada sports betting and its online markets are picking pace, but the state continues to rely extensively on its land-based operations. Bringing in remote or digital opportunities will help in the creation of an interactive industry that could hurt the state’s prospects. Is remote registration a priority? Sightline co-founder Omer Sattar clarified that the firm was not seeking the introduction of remote registration. He said that cashless options are a priority and they want to introduce such options to casino patrons. The firm has partnered with Aristocrat and Boyd Gaming to launch cashless solutions. However, it is not the only company interested in introducing cashless payments in the US casino markets. IGT received approval for launching a cashless wallet in Nevada last year. California’s Morongo Casino is also working on digital payments. The American Gaming Association (AGA) has been working on increasing the adoption of cashless solutions as they could be useful in reducing the threat of transmission during the pandemic. AGA CEO Bill Miller commented on their push and said, “The COVID-19 pandemic made it all the more important for us to advance our efforts to provide customers with the payment choice they are more comfortable with and have increasingly come to expect in their daily lives.” About sherlock Sherlock Gomes loves to write and express his views on anything related to Gaming, Gambling, & Casino.
