Oryx Gaming rolls out BetCity.nl in Dutch online gaming market

Oryx Gaming has broadened its regulated market reach with the launch of the BetCity.nl online sportsbook.

The new online sports betting brand follows Oryx’s partnership with Dutch operator BetEnt, one of ten operators awarded an online gaming license by the Dutch Gaming Authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA).

Oryx Gaming – BetEnt Deal

The relationship will see Bragg Gaming Group (NASDAQ: BRAG) supply BetEnt, the online arm of Dutch land-based operator Casino City, with a comprehensive turnkwy solution, which will comprise the company’s Player Account Management (PAM) iGaming platform and extensive content library.

Melvin Bostelaar, BetCity’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed high admiration for the company’s new partner. “In ORYX, we discovered a company with high standards and an established track record of compliance, player safety, and commercial support. ORYX was one of the first platforms in the Netherlands to be fully accredited and met all of our technical standards.

“The ORYX organization possesses the necessary experience, principles, and strengths to assist us in launching our new enterprise. We were able to provide a comprehensive and competitive offering through this relationship, and we look forward to contributing positively to the Dutch online gaming market together.”

Translating on BetCity’s land-based popularity

Chris Looney, Chief Commercial Officer at Bragg Gaming, also commented on the alliance via company news. “We congratulate BetEnt on becoming one of the first ten operators to get a license in the newly regulated Dutch market, and we’re honored to be a part of their journey. Casino City is a well-known brand in the land-based casino industry, and we look forward to expanding on the success of our market debut with their online brand, BetCity.nl.

The CEO continued by stating that they saw “huge potential” in the Dutch online sector and are “in an ideal position to supply proven high-quality products and content” to local operators.

Casino City is a well-known brand in the Netherlands. Since 1974, it has been responsible for operating land-based casinos in Amsterdam, which currently manages five properties. According to the news release, the operator maintains strong ties with Dutch sports publishers and sees an opportunity for cross-selling from sports betting to iGaming as the market grows.
