Station Casinos, located in Nevada, revealed a scale model of the upcoming Durango Casino & Resort last week. The model of the new casino & resort model soon to rise is presently on display at the company’s Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas.

New Venue to Open at Las Vegas in 2023

It is anticipated that Durango will be finished in the autumn of 2023 at Durango Drive and the 215 Beltway in the southwest valley. Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas may now be seen in its final form by tourists. 

According to News 3 Las Vegas, the construction of the handcrafted scale replica took over 12 weeks. It is eight feet tall and eight feet wide, with a scale of 1/16 of an inch every foot. Model Works Inc. constructed it with assistance from Austin Millwork and PlasticMan.

In March, Red Rock hosted a special groundbreaking ceremony for the Durango Casino & Resort. Company Chairman and CEO Frank Fertitta III, Vice Chairman Lorenzo Fertitta, and new company President Scott Kreeger were in attendance. The property will generate more than one thousand employment.

Beginning Constructions Details to the City 

The event marked the beginning of construction on the new resort to the city’s southwest. The proposed $750 million facility will have a 200-room hotel tower and an 83,000-square-foot casino. There will be over 2,000 slot machines and 46 table games available. 

The company’s preliminary plans include a 216-foot-tall hotel, a casino, a pool with an event lawn, four signature restaurants and bars, outlets, a race and sports betting area, 20,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, a nine-tenant food hall, and a parking structure with 40 electric vehicle charging stations and ample bicycle parking.

Red Rock Resorts said in July that it would permanently shut and destroy three of its Las Vegas resorts, with the purpose of selling the ground underneath them. 

The venues include Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, and Fiesta Henderson, which have been closed since the Covid-19 outbreak started in March 2020. Station Casinos then purchased about 126 acres near the southwest corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Cactus Avenue for $172.4 million.
