Edgio will power the rollout of WCF’s platform PlayerX as part of the new strategic partnership. Thanks to Edgio’s Uplynk platform, PlayerX is anticipated to dominate the market and substantially expand its activities. First time ever, esports events will have streaming footage synchronized with player data like headshots, kills, and more.
In other words, WCF’s PlayerX platform will be able to share, stream, and promote esports competition highlights. This will provide new experiences for esports fans, as they can search for team and player statistics combined with the corresponding video footage.

Vela stated, ”the fantasy experience is often one-dimensional, with users interacting solely with text and statistics.” Vela noted in conclusion that the future PlayerX platform, which will have real-time statistics, will allow users to interact with their opponents and share thrilling moments by searching for and seeing highlights.
PlayerX is a new platform that combines fantasy sports and esports segments. WCF noted that the site ”allows fans to construct their fantasy squad of esport athletes and live stream games while simultaneously displaying statistics and insights.”
The platform also provides users with an abundance of personalization possibilities, such as music themes, dynamic avatars, and chat. The anticipated release date of PlayerX for CS:GO and Valorant is the first quarter of 2023. The platform hopes to introduce Call of Duty and League of Legends later in 2019 after its launch.
