New Jersey has become the first state to break the gaming record. It has become the first state in the United States to generate a revenue of more than $1 Billion in a single month. It earned a revenue of more than $ 1.01 billion in wagering in the month of September 2021.

Reason for the increase in revenue

The new record for online wagering has come in wake of the higher earnings than ever from casino revenue. This total revenue from the online casino wagering has increased to $ 453.6 million. This has been stated by PlayNJ. PlayNJ tracks the gaming developments in the state of New Jersey.

Eric Ramsey, an analyst for the PlayUSA.com Network that includes PlayNJ.com has stated that it was commonly thought that the gaming industry in the state was incapable of surprise. However, the sportsbook in the state has reached $ 1 billion per month in terms of the monthly handle. He further stated that no market in the United States is playing on the same level as that of New Jersey. He further stated that there is unparalleled growth in online sports betting as well as the casino gaming industry and it is this growth that is raising revenue in the entire industry.

Official figures of revenue released

According to the official reports released on Monday, the retail, as well as online sportsbooks, have reached $ 1.01 billion in the month of September 2021. This has broken the records of both the state as well as the entire country. The previous record was $ 996.3 million in the state of New Jersey that was reached in December 2020. Volume in the month of September 2021 had risen up by 35.1% from September 201 and 52.1% in August 2021. The revenue generated in the month of September 2021 was $ 748.6 million.  The revenue generated in the month of August 2021 was $ 664.7 million.
