Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) and Australian broadcaster Sky Racing have signed a new cooperation deal that extends Sky Racing’s broadcasting rights for another four years.

The Melbourne-based Greyhound Racing Victoria is responsible for managing 13 tracks and regulating the sport in the Australian state of Victoria. It also paves the way for the sport to broaden its scope in the sports betting sector.

The Partnership Eyes to Promote the Sport

Sky Racing will be the exclusive domestic, international, and digital distributor and broadcaster for GRV as a consequence of the collaboration.

The new agreement includes expanded time slots for greyhound racing in Victoria, dedicated showcases, and additional digital marketing to promote the sport. Adam Brownlee, General Manager of Sky Operations, declared his commitment to promoting greyhound racing and expanding betting alternatives.

He mentioned the broadcaster’s enthusiasm for being GRV’s principal media partner. He hoped that the cooperation would enhance their connection. Brownlee indicated that Sky Racing will cooperate with GRV to expand watching and interaction options and to provide punters more engaging material.

According to him, the arrangement was an excellent chance to help promote the sport and provide greyhound racing enthusiasts with the desired material.

Opportunities for Sports Betting get Special Consideration 

Stuart Laing, the chief executive officer of GRV, indicated that the partnership would be highly advantageous for greyhound racing in Australia and abroad and would help establish it as a premier wagering product.

He said that the relationship will provide fans and bettors with unprecedented access to the sport and enable GRV to provide enhanced promotional material, such as featured events, top greyhounds, and players. Opportunities for wagering seem to be a focus for GRV and Tabcorp, the parent firm of Sky Racing. It is the biggest gaming provider in Australia and controls many television channels and a radio station.

Brownlee stressed that growing the popularity of greyhound racing will assist Tabcorp in leveraging its wagering business and expanding its market share. The business is planning a substantial update to its betting app and would gain substantially from a rise in interest in the sport. In order to achieve this objective, Tabcorp intends to lure bettors with new digital initiatives and supplemental information from its staff of experts.
