Scientific Games, Texas Lottery to Work Together for Another 12 Years

  • Scientific Games, a provider of lottery technology and iGaming solutions, has renewed and extended its long-standing cooperation with the Texas Lottery for another 12 years by incorporating revolutionary lottery technology.
  • In addition to scratch ticket games, the new cooperation arrangement includes SCiQ technology from Scientific Games, which will be rolled out beginning in 2023.
  • Scientific Games has inked a number of agreement extensions and new partnerships throughout the past several months, including the recently renewed contract.

The Extended Collaboration Includes the SCiQ Ecosystem of Scientific Games

The long-standing partnership between Scientific Games and the Texas Lottery will be extended until 2034 under a new partnership agreement.

The Texas Lottery will continue to sell scratch ticket games from Scientific Games; however, the relationship will now include Scientific Games’ SCiQ technology, an innovative system that gives a distinctive display of the scratch ticket products and enhances the safety of these products. SCiQ also provides shops with solutions for inventory management, game promotion, and other operational enhancements. Beginning in 2023, the Texas Lottery will implement Scientific Games’ SCiQ units.

Since the inception of the Texas Lottery in 1992, Scientific Games has been the lottery’s partner, supplying scratch ticket games. Collectively, they have collected more than $35 billion in money, which has been used to fund state programs for the benefit of the educational system, numerous projects aimed at veterans, and a number of other initiatives.

Scientific Games Continues Its Global Expansion Through an Array of New Partnerships

Texas Lottery executive director Gary Grief expressed his excitement about the new Scientific Games contract extension. Grief indicated that the products and marketing given by Scientific Games played a significant impact in the sale of over $6.73 billion worth of scratch tickets in the fiscal year 2022.

As stated previously, the cooperation between the Texas Lottery and Scientific Games has always been defined by innovative products. Three times, Texas residents were offered the $5 million Vegas challenge, which was one of its most successful efforts. Each time it was attached to a specific type of scratch card ticket from Scientific Games that gave players the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas and cash prizes of up to $5 million, which were exclusively available at Scientific Games-sponsored events for winning ticket holders.

Scientific Games is an industry leader in the production and distribution of instant games. The organization collaborates with 130 lotteries in over 50 countries worldwide, with a particularly significant presence in North America, which includes nearly all lottery providers.

Beginning in September, the major lottery operator partnered with the Latvian national lottery operator. The company struck a collaboration agreement with the Colorado Lottery in August, expanding its portfolio to include one additional U.S. state. In July, Scientific Games expanded into Latin America with a new contract with Ecuador’s national lottery and extended its 50-year partnership with Loto-Québec by five years.
