Sportradar, the world’s largest sports technology firm that provides sports data to media partners and some of the biggest sports betting operators in the world, announced the debut of a revamped OTT subscription service named NHL.TV. 

The launch of NHL.TV coincides with the opening of the 2022-23 NHL season, catering to both sports fans and sports betting wagerers. The NHL and Sportradar management remark on the subject.

Sportradar Supports Modernized NHL.TV Solution

The NHL and Sportradar unveiled a revamped OTT subscription service on Monday in conjunction with the introduction of the service. 

The revamped system will provide unparalleled experiences for live and on-demand NHL games for sports fans outside of Canada and the United States. 

The updated NHL.TV subscription service is powered by Sportadar’s industry-leading solutions, which “enable the NHL to manage the end-to-end workflow,” according to the business.

These solutions include top OTT frontend applications, OTT backend applications, and UX/UI design from Sportradar. The company will also assist with third-party integrations for the revamped platform. 

As a result of the new launch, the updated solution is now accessible to sports fans in over 120 countries across the globe. In addition to live game streaming, the redesigned solution delivers personalized features such as highlights and on-demand videos.

According to Sportradar, the updated NHL.TV solution will be compatible with TVs running Android, Fire TV, and Foxxum Operating System.

The current partnership builds on a solid foundation. In June of last year, Sportradar signed a breakthrough arrangement with the NHL, making it the League’s official partner for betting data rights, media data rights, and betting streaming rights. 

This allowed the operator to transmit NHL official data and statistics to international sports betting, media, and technology organizations. 

In addition, Sportradar has been named the NHL’s Official Integrity Partner. This contributed to improve the integrity of the sport, while Sportradar pledged to monitor global wagering on NHL contests.

NHL.TV Will Provide Exceptional Experiences for Sports Fans

Stephen McArdle, the NHL’s senior executive vice president of digital media and strategic development, disclosed that international NHL fans are just as enthusiastic about technology and engaging experiences as North American fans. 

He noted that the newly updated NHL.TV, which is now available in foreign markets, will provide sports fans with tailored and enhanced gaming experiences. 

McArdle stated that the NHL is looking forward to maintaining its existing robust engagement with Sportradar and delivering greater excitement to OTT solution customers.

According to the chief commercial officer of Sportradar, Ed Blonk, sports fans are currently interested in interactive and tailored viewing experiences. 

Using technology that has been developed over many years, he continued, the business was able to redesign NHL.TV such that it “can meet and surpass viewer demands.” Blonk concluded by stating that Sportradar will continue its B2B cooperation with the NHL and develop products that increase fan engagement.
