January 2021 Post Views: 84 Australian- firm PlayUp announced today that the New Jersey gaming regulators have approved its sports betting license. The company offers horse racing, daily fantasy sports, and sports betting services to customers in India, Australia, and New Zealand. US expansion on the cards The Sydney, Australia-based brand has already received a license in Colorado. The New Jersey license will help it mark a stronger presence in the US market. The company had to partner with a physical location before obtaining a license in the state. It teamed up with FR Park Racing, LP (FRP) for this purpose. FRP is owned by Penwood Racing, Inc and operates the Freehold Racetrack. PlayUp also has partnerships with some of the biggest gaming brands in the US like Greenwood Racing, Parx Casino, and Penn National Gaming. They have become 50-50 partners with Penwood. Matthew Cullen, the senior vice president of Interactive Gaming and sports for Parx, said that the firm is happy to partner with PlayUp and waits for the launch of its services in New Jersey. What will PlayUp do next? As its way for a New Jersey license has been cleared, the firm plans on launching in the Garden State in the first quarter of this year. Daniel Simic, Global CEO for PlayUp said that the firm is excited to have received approval for New Jersey licensing. It is a positive result for the operator and it aims to work on rapid growth in the US based on its partnerships and technology. In September, it also received a temporary license from Colorado while still being under review from authorities. PlayUp expects that it will be approved for full licensing after the testing process is completed. The firm can still provide mobile and online sports betting in the state. However, its services haven’t gone live in Colorado yet. It is being expected that the brand will be launching both markets around the same time.
