‘Santiago Bernabéu of the Future’ to include casino, other amenities

The new Santiago Bernabéu stadium will have a space for casino entertainment once Real Madrid FC officially opens its doors to the public in 2023.

The people behind the renovation of the iconic football stadium unveiled the plan and more details in a press release issued on Thursday.

New Casino at Real Madrid’s Turf

The new casino at Santiago Bernabéu stadium will be a state-of-the art facility, offering a world class amenities and attractions that include top-notch slots, table and other real money games.

Real Madrid club president Florentino Pérez revealed the cost of re-modelling stadium could reach around €575m. However, the casino would augment the club in recouping some of that capital with a projected revenue of €120m.

Apart from the plan to establish a casino at the new Bernabéu stadium, the new stadium will also feature a first class restaurant, museum, spaces for tours and events and shops. The club wants to maximize the earning potential of each structural corner of the building.

On the pitch, the engineers plans to build a 360-degree screens with a video scoreboard and audiovisual media as it looks to provide the fans with content that will ‘enrich the stadium experience’ during live matches. It also opened opportunity for ‘second screen’ promos, as well as betting.

Temporary Home of Real Madrid

Santiago Bernabéu has served the home of Real Madrid for many decades and seen the football club win multiple domestic and international championships. But on April 7, Real Madrid will be playing the final leg of its UEFA Champions League quarter-final fixture with Liverpool away from the legendary stadium, despite being the home team.

Alfredo Di Stefano, which can accommodate up to 6,000 people, will serve as the temporary home of the Real Madrid club while the Bernabéu undergoes renovation work.

Despite not playing an all-important UEFA Champions League match at their usual stadium, Pérez believes the future is bright for the club and the brand new Santiago Bernabéu.

“For many more unforgettable moments at home, we present you the Santiago Bernabéu of the future,” Pérez said in the press release.
